Inference Strategy
11/9/2009 3:00 PM - 6:15 PM

Are your students struggling with making inferences about what they read? Challenged to answer inferential questions?

This strategy is designed to help older students (gr. 7-12) learn how to make inferences about information they have read and also answer inferential questions. It provides a functional and efficient way to teach critical higher level reading skills. Recent research has shown that the accuracy level of 9th grade level students answering grade level comprehension questions rose form 32% to 83% after mastering this strategy.   Significant gains were also evidenced on a standardized measure.  This is a new strategy added to the Strategic Intervention Model Learning Strategies Series developed at the University of Kansas Center for Research on Learning.  Training allows access to all instructional materials.

The session is offered two times this year. Register on PD Express
